Manjara Charitable Trust (MCT), Latur is one of the premier educational and social service organizations in Maharashtra. The Trust was established in 1988 with a vision to provide quality education, promote rural development, and contribute to the socio-economic transformation of society. Founded under the visionary leadership of late Hon. Shri Vilasraoji Dagdojirao Deshmukh, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra and former Union Minister of India, the Trust has emerged as a leading institution dedicated to educational excellence, agricultural development, healthcare, and community welfare.
Since its inception, the Trust has been committed to addressing educational backwardness, particularly in the Marathwada region, by establishing institutions that provide opportunities for learning, professional development, and social empowerment. Beginning with schools and colleges in Latur district, the Trust gradually expanded its activities to Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, creating a wide network of institutions ranging from primary schools to professional colleges, teacher education institutes, engineering colleges, law colleges, healthcare institutions, and agricultural extension organizations.
The Trust strongly believes that education is the foundation of social progress. Through its institutions, it has contributed significantly to the development of skilled professionals, teachers, engineers, legal experts, healthcare practitioners, agricultural entrepreneurs, and responsible citizens. The educational philosophy of the Trust emphasizes academic excellence, character building, innovation, and service to society.
In the field of agriculture, the Trust sponsors MCTs- Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Latur, a premier agricultural extension institution functioning under the guidance of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi. The KVK serves as a bridge between research and farming communities through technology assessment, refinement, frontline demonstrations, vocational training, entrepreneurship development, and dissemination of modern agricultural technologies for sustainable farming and rural prosperity.
The Trust also contributes to healthcare education through Manjara Ayurved Medical College and Hospital, Latur, which provides quality Ayurvedic education, healthcare services, and research opportunities. Over the years, the Trust has become synonymous with educational excellence and social commitment across Maharashtra.
Today, Manjara Charitable Trust manages a diverse network of institutions serving thousands of students, farmers, and beneficiaries across Maharashtra. Guided by its motto of knowledge, service, and social responsibility, the Trust continues to work towards nation-building through education, agriculture, healthcare, and community development.
